Jamil Hammoudeh is an aerospace engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona building ARCS, an open-source simulator for testing AI spacecraft controllers safely.

I study aerospace engineering, with an emphasis in astronautics, at Cal Poly Pomona and expect to graduate in May 2028. I work on spacecraft guidance and autonomy, safe AI for control, and high-speed flight. Since June 2022 I have interned at SOAR LP, including a summer in Shannon, Ireland on a Boeing 767-300 structural modification program.

Research

Open-source software. In progress.

An open-source, headless simulator for testing large language model agents and classical controllers on spacecraft rendezvous with keep-out safety constraints. First result: a PD baseline violates the keep-out zone in 100% of 30 obstructed approaches.
